Blood Money 1st May 2003 Once again the name of English cricket is being dragged into the dirt,
because of the dispicable actions of its governing body. This same body was
responsible for fighting tooth and nail to try and get its team to play a match
in Zimbabwe, during the recent cricket world cup. The match never happened due
to the principled stand taken by the English team members, who refused to play
in a country which is being driven into the ground by a vile dictator, who
clings to power by racism and terror. Determined, it seems, to support the evil tyrant Mugabe and his odious ZANU
PF regime, the English governing cricket body has arranged for the Zimbabwe
cricket team to play in the UK, and they have duly arrived today. This team has been vetted by Mugabe and ZANU PF, to ensure they do not make
any protests which might spoil the illusion of Mugabe's Zimbabwe being a
civilized nation. Playing cricket in England will certainly be a propaganda gift
for Mugabe, after all, if the Zimbabwe team is welcomed in England to play that
most civilized of sports, then it can't be all that bad in Zimbabwe can it? It beggers belief that a nation which has been suspended from the
Commonwealth due to the actions of its political leaders, who have been
exercising a horrific reign of terror over the country, can so easily travel to
the UK to take part in such a high profile cricket tour. It is truly astounding that sporting links were cut with South Africa and
Rhodesia during their pre majority rule period, when neither of these countries
had a human rights record even remotely close to that of Mugabe's Zimbabwe. It
is amazing that a country like Zimbabwe, with a disgusting record of human
rights violations, rabid state orchestrated persecution of racial minorities and
outright genocide, can be so openly welcomed in England. The greed and avarice of the English cricketing authorities is breathtaking
to behold. How these people can have no qualms about making money from the blood
and suffering of the people of Zimbabwe, is truly sickening. It would appear on face value, that the actions of the English cricket
authorities are an attempt to spite those who prevented England playing in
Zimbabwe during the recent world cup. It is nothing less than a betrayal of the
ideals of democracy, and sends a message to other third world despots, that the
behaviour expected from civilized Western nations does not apply to them. What
an arrogant, superior and brazenly racist attitude to take, and what a terrible
betrayal of those peoples of the third world, who are attempting to throw off
the yoke of sociopathic dictators, self serving despots, and corrupt political
leaders. Embassy
